Tinnitus is a common disease, and it is estimated that there are at least 1 billion tinnitus patients in China. Many people adopt a laissez-faire attitude towards tinnitus, and believe that tinnitus and self-healing will be self-healing. In fact, this attitude is not desirable, because there are many reasons for tinnitus, and some even have great hidden dangers. Below, Xiaoou talks about the “black hand” hidden behind the tinnitus.

One of the black hands: stress and emotional stress

Work stress and emotional stress are an important cause of tinnitus. It is also a common cause. Menopausal, white-collar work, intense study of students, and poor habits such as playing mahjong in the middle and old age may cause tinnitus. This tinnitus can be improved or disappeared by medication and changing lifestyle habits.

Black Hand II: Sudden Deafness

Sudden deafness, also known as sudden hearing loss, is a kind of spontaneous, unexplained neurological deafness in which the hearing suddenly drops rapidly. It is accompanied by tinnitus and is mainly high-pitched, and the patient is deeply disturbed. The cause of the disease is unknown, and may be related to excessive fatigue, viral infection, blood circulation in the inner ear and obstacles in substance metabolism. For sudden deafness, it is recommended to see a doctor as soon as possible to confirm the diagnosis and prevent further hearing loss.

Black Hand III: Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

There are two channels between the human nasopharynx and the middle ear cavity that are called the eustachian tube. Nasopharyngeal cancer often occurs near the opening of the eustachian tube. When there is blood in the nose and a lump in the neck, people will wonder if they have nasopharyngeal cancer. However, another important symptom of nasopharyngeal cancer, unexplained unilateral tinnitus, is not taken seriously in this case, which delays diagnosis and treatment. About half of the patients in nasopharyngeal cancer have tinnitus, often a low-frequency snoring. Therefore, in the case of the above symptoms, especially men who regularly smoke, be highly alert to the possibility of nasopharyngeal cancer.
