Hearing aid users have relatively little fatigue

Surveys from seven countries show that hearing aid users experience less physical and mental fatigue at night compared to hearing loss patients who do not use hearing aids.

Among people with severe hearing loss who did not use hearing aids, 60% said that they often feel physically exhausted at night; among those who use hearing aids, only 40% feel this way.

Among people with severe hearing loss who have not used hearing aids, 50% said they often feel mentally exhausted at night; among those who use hearing aids, only 30% feel this way.

The questionnaire questions are: “I often feel physically exhausted at night” and “I often feel physically fatigued at night”.The answer options for the question are “completely agree” and “relatively agree”.

The survey was published in the EuroTrak+ JapanTrak survey report. The survey was conducted in Italy, Britain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Norway and Japan in 2012.
